Production of Biobased or Biodegradable Blended Yarns and Investigation of Their Utilization Performance
The aim of this study is to develop environmentally friendly yarn and woven fabric products that meet industrial standards from biodegradable fibers, and to evaluate their production and final product performances. Within the scope of the study, the blending possibilities of biodegradable polyester types and biobased polyester types with other different fibers that are not biodegradable, standard in the market or with sustainability features in the foreground (pre-consumer) were evaluated and product types with biodegradable properties at certain ratios were developed. In addition, the ability of the developed products to meet the required quality criteria in terms of mechanical performance, fastness and biodegradability has been investigated.
