Sapling Plant Project

Carbon Free Kipaş Projects Sapling Plant Project

About the project

  • Date: 23 Nov 2023
  • Status: On Going

Thanks to our project, which aims to bring 100 thousand saplings to the soil every year in Kahramanmaraş, we will leave both nature and green space for future generations.

"We are an industry that produces carbon emissions. As it is known, this is a serious problem in the textile industry. We started a tree planting event to minimize carbon emissions. We currently provide 100 percent of our energy from recycled sources. We believe in the importance of such events to make the textile industry more sustainable. We calculated our carbon surplus. This corresponds to an amount that would be covered by approximately 500 thousand mature trees. If we plant a total of 500 thousand trees in 2 years, KİPAŞ will become a company that has reduced its carbon emissions to 0 in 2030. We are now achieving the goals of 2030."

We started our project in 2020

Thanks to our project, which aims to bring 100 thousand saplings to the soil every year in Kahramanmaraş, we will leave both nature and green space for future generations.

First Carbon Neutral Textile Manufacturer

Taking a step to become the first carbon neutral textile manufacturer in Turkey and the world, Kipaş will realize Europe's largest yarn and fabric production. In return for each yarn and fabric produced in order to make the effect of the amount of CO2 (carbon) released during production positive in nature, the seedlings will meet with the soil. .

Halit Gümüşer, General Manager of Kipaş Tekstil:

As Kipaş Holding, we very much desire the development of an industrialism approach in terms of responsible production, enabling sustainable textile production, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions in the world. We were very pleased with the sensitivity of our Regional Directorate of Forestry and the Environment Directorate. I hope this project, which we will do during these 5 years, will be successful and will be a good example and a good start for the whole sector.
