Recycling of Elestan Yarn Waste
The most important waste handled with a secondary approach in the cotton recycling sector is yarn production waste. These wastes are large resources that are released for various reasons during spinning and weaving and are evaluated in two groups as with and without elastane. Currently, cotton waste yarns without elastane can be brought to the industry by mechanical methods in recycling facilities. However, elastane yarn wastes cause quality problems in the subsequent processes and cannot be brought back to the industry since the elastane polymers in the yarn cannot be completely destroyed during recycling.
In this project, it is aimed to develop a method that includes the use of yarn wastes released due to various reasons in elastane cotton yarn production in recycled yarn production.
